Project gets Broadway launch date

The Green Day musical will open on Broadway later this year.

Co-written by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong - it's based on 2004 album American Idiot.

Preview performances start on March 24th at St. James' Theatre in New York, with opening night on April 20th.

The show has already played at the Berkeley Rep Theate in California, where it made the most money for any production in the venue's history.
