The LG Arena

Evey since AC/DC became the last band to play there in April, £29 million has been spent on bringing the LG Arena, formerly the NEC, into the 21st Century.
Now it's just weeks away from being ready, and Kerrang! Radio have been given access and told what you can expect if you go to a gig there in the future.

Bosses at the LG say they've taken the capacity up to a maximum of 15,700 - making it the biggest arena outside London.
They've also replaced the seats for more comfortable ones with slightly more legroom, and they've doubled the number of toilets so you won't miss the start of a gig because the queue is too long.
But the really special part of the new site is the pre-gig entertainment area. 5000m of former warehouse space has been turned into a huge area with bars, restaurants and shops.
It's been designed so that if you want to get to the arena early to avoid the traffic or make more of a night of it - you won't just be standing outside a burger bar drinking beer from a plastic cup!!
We managed to sneak a camera into the tour - so check out our photos of the pre-gig area here.
The LG Arena opens for business on the 7th October - and has some pretty good bands coming along in it's first few months to test it all out:
OCTOBER
27th & 28th - Green Day
NOVEMBER
13th - Deep Purple
DECEMBER
2nd - Simple Minds
5th - Status Quo
8th - Placebo
13th - Depeche Mode
